IWC has launched a line of watch straps made from plant-based MiraTex materials. Offered as an eco-friendly alternative to leather, the new straps were developed with the help of Natural Fiber Welding. Made from ‘Mirum’ – a biobased, circular material composed of FSC-certified natural rubber, cork powder and mineral colorants – the straps contain no petrochemicals or plastic. This announcement follows yesterday’s release of IWC’s fourth edition of its Sustainability Report, and decision to appoint Gisele Bündchen as its newest Environmental & Community Projects Advisor. The sustainable straps also build on similar efforts from brands like Lilienthal Berlin, which recently launched a Coffee Watch equipped with a case made from used coffee grounds.

Piaget has updated its classic Polo lineup to now offer the Polo Skeleton and Polo Date with a new, deep green hue. On the Polo Date, the color pops against a 42mm rose gold case and guilloché dial, while the watch is powered by a 1110P automatic movement and 50-hour power reserve. On the Polo Skeleton, the color appears even more striking, as it’s used to highlight green bridges across the open movement, and complements the watch’s 42mm stainless steel case and bracelet. While most of the watches in the Polo series retail for $11,600 - $63,500, these green models are part of a limited series, with pricing available upon request.

Asolo has released a new range of mountaineering boots ahead of the fall winter season. The men’s Manaslu GV Evo boots are designed to offer extra warmth on harsh, extremely cold terrain, and harness a 3-in-1 system of outer gaiters, main shells and inner boots to ensure complete protection. The outer protective gaiters alone are made with a sandwich construction of four materials (polyurethane foam stretch, CORDURA nylon, neoprene and GORE-TEX®) to promise users reliable coverage no matter the clime. As striking as they are durable, the Manaslu boots currently retail for $1,400.
A steel mace’s asymmetrical body allows users to target specific muscle groups during their workout. The ‘maceballs’ sit on the far end of a steel club which can be swung (like a kettlebell) or pressed (like a dumbbell). Because the weight is concentrated on one end of the mace, you’ll have to work harder to control the unbalanced weight, which will require your body to call on – and train – multiple muscle groups cohesively. Training with steel maces can also help users improve their grip strength, and tap into a more cardio-forward weight training regimen. Inspired by Bruce Brown’s classic 1966 surf film “The Endless Summer,” Eterno Verano claims it’s for anyone, “who’s ever wanted to strap a surfboard to a van and head south.” The self-described ‘ultra-premium tequila’ is launching with a full range (Blanco, Reposado and Añejo), with bottles retailing from $50 - $70. Made with 100 percent blue weber agave, the tequila is bottled using recycled glass and a natural cork closure. Its Blanco offers an aroma of stone fruit, baking spices and rich “terra firma” while the Reposado (aged for a minimum of six months in whiskey barrels) lends notes of fresh lime and honey. The Añejo, aged for a minimum of 12 months (in whiskey barrels), is said to offer a ‘tropical aroma, rich vanilla and caramel apple flavor’ as well as a, ‘nuanced, smooth chocolate kick to finish.’
