Koenigsegg has added one more beast to its hypercar lineup by unveiling the CC850. Koenigsegg has been delivering exhilarating power and performance for 20 years now and celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Swedish carmaker has unveiled this new hypercar. The CC850 pays tribute to the CC8S which was the first production car of the company.

This will be a limited edition car with only 50 units to be produced. As per the company, this new Hypercar is the Ultimate driver’s car. The design of the CC850 is inspired by the CC8S, as we can see the resemblance from the tail-lamp cluster, wheels, and the signature Synchrohelix door. Another inspiration from CC8S is the removable hardtop. The mechanism and a few of the design details of the CC850 are similar to its siblings like the Gemara, Jesko, and Regera. The monocoque carbon fiber chassis of CC850 and the carbon and kevlar body panels make the car even lighter than the rivals with a weight of 1,385 kg.

The power of this hypercar comes from a 5.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 1,385 hp and 1,385 nm of peak torque at 8,500 rpm. The dry-sump design of the engine enables optimal oil distribution without a flywheel. And as per the company’s statement, the engine of the CC850 is the most responsive and most high revving possible which has led to CC850 being known as ‘The World’s Most Powerful and Fastest Manual Production Car’. However, the company has not disclosed the specifications and performance numbers as of yet.

This new hypercar comes with Koenigsegg’s ‘Engage Shift System’ which is a mix of manual and automatic gearboxes. It gets the 9-speed automatic ‘Light Speed Transmission’ which can be found in other cars from its stable too but the unique thing here is the addition of a 6-speed, gated manual gearbox. It gets two driving modes Road and Track and the ratios in the manual mode are changed depending on the driving mode. The Swedish flag can also be seen on the gearbox to pay tribute to CC8S. Compared to its ancestor CC8S, the CC850 gets a retractable rear wing, adjustable suspension, adjustable ride height, and active aerodynamic components.

As mentioned before, the car celebrates 20 years of the company. The selected 50 limited units celebrate the 50th birthday of the founder and CEO of the company, Christian von Koenigsegg. The company has not revealed the launch date or any other information about this new hypercar. But it is expected to go live in the coming time.
