The adventure of the weightlifter Briken Calja in the European barbell that is taking place in Tirana has started badly. He did not perform any of the three tests he had available in the detachment style, weighing 73 kg, giving no result even in doubles. 

Calja competed in Battery A and was the main contender for medals, but did not succeed. He was the last of the weightlifters to climb the podium and in all three tests aimed to lift 151 kg, but without success. A bad performance of the red and black weightlifter, not being able to catch the medal. 

Anyway, it went to the other red and black weightlifter, Erkand Qerimaj, who had competed a few hours ago in Battery B. In this style, Qerimaj lifted 150 kg, thus receiving the silver medal. This is a somewhat unexpected medal for Qerimaj,  who captures the podium in the style of detachment. The gold medal, also with 150 kg, went to the Georgian weightlifter Kakhi Asanidze. 

The 73 kg Battery A competition in push-up style will start soon, where Calja is expected to be the protagonist, aiming for at least one medal in this style. While Qerimaj, in this style did not give any result in his competition.
